Who owns the formats this tool reads, what we used, and what we deliberately did not.

The reading code is ours

Everything that parses GPX, TCX and FIT lives in this repository and we wrote it. No third-party parser is shipped to your browser. Less code in the page makes it easier to say exactly what the page does.

Why we did not use Garmin's FIT SDK

FIT is Garmin's format, and the SDK Garmin publishes carries its own agreement rather than a standard open-source license. We could not verify that text in full, so we wrote our own reader from the published format description instead. This tool only reads FIT files; it never writes them.

Because no map tiles are loaded, no map data attribution is owed. If a basemap is ever added, its attribution ships with it.
